Check out these cool Family Flags!

This is the Bedo Family Flag that Madison designed. It has five stars which includes 5 important aspects of our family. There is the green star with a tent on it which symbolizes our love of the outdoors. There is a red star with a fork and spoon which symbolizes our love of food. There is a blues star with a baguette which symbolizes our French connection. There is an orange star with a cat which symbolizes our love of animals and finally a red, black, white and yellow star with a feather which symbolizes our Mi'kmaq culture. This is at the centre of our flag, as this is who we are. She has it displayed outside in the front of our house.

Colin chose blue for the sky and green for the grass because we love the outside. He also chose the colors blue, purple and green because those are all our family's favorite colors.

The Madore Flag!

The Ivany family flag has Autism Puzzle Pieces, a bright center (Cohen) and paw prints, showing that Worth is always around somewhere!

The McLaughlin Family Flag!

Where I live there's a apple tree. It's like, older than me. Every one of my cousin's, aunts and uncles knows the tree. Its been here as long as my house was. And that's a long time.

Jack's flag represents everything that he likes. He likes moose hunting, jumping on his trampoline, playing Minecraft and watching YouTube.

Lily’s flag represents things she loves. She drew a picture of her family, made a fairy door and added pictures of stars and butterflies.

The Dunphy Flag (Mrs. Dunphy)

This simple family flag was designed using paper and markers and shows two outdoor symbols that are important to us. To my family, the inukshuk is a symbol of strength and positive direction. We've built inukshuks at home and at the cabin. The yellow represents the sun shining on it and brighter days ahead. I included the campfire because we've always loved getting together around a fire to laugh, share stories and listen to our favourite songs.

Here is the Tucker family flag designed by Erin. The large T is to represent our family tree. All of our family members, Mark, Jill, Alex, Erin and Sophie are branching off of the T and our last name Tucker to show we are all connected as one. Included by each of our names is a symbol to show that while we are one unit we each have our own individual identity. Sophie is our beloved pet dog, Alex our dedicated hockey player, Erin our devoted figure skater, Mark is the coach who coaches both kids hockey teams and always encourages them in their activities and Jill the teacher who sees everyday and every activity as a chance to learn something new.

Ms. Hillier's Family Flag!

My flag includes many of my favourite things, including symbols of fandoms I enjoy, being a teacher, cats, writing, and music. I included the cabin with a campfire and a variety of my favourite constellations. I also included water because I find sources of water calming and relaxing. Since I enjoy sunrises and sunsets, I included a sun made in the shape of a heart because I also believe kindness is so very important. Finally, my flag is in the shape of an open book. Not just because I love reading, which I definitely do, but because whatever we are doing in our lives, we learn more from an open book than one that is closed.

Since he is Japanese and his family is in both Canada and Japan, Kay wanted the flag to represent this with words in both English and Japanese to show what values are important to him when he thinks about family. The main word is “Welcome” because we greet people with a smile and happiness. The right part of the flag represents Japan with the Japanese flag, a sakura tree and Kay’s grandparents “Jiji” (grandfather) and “Baachan” (grandmother) Yonekawa. The Japanese words “Ganbatte” (don’t give up) and “Genki” (energetic) are important to Kay because our family likes to be active and keeps trying until we succeed. The left part of the flag represents Canada with the Canadian flag, a maple tree and Kay’s Poppy and Nanny McKenzie. The English words “Joy” and “Love” are important to Kay because our family is happy a lot and Kay loves his family very much. Representing the center of Kay’s family is his Papa, Mama, his cat Tigger and Kay himself.
